Thorntons has been named Large Firm of the Year at The Herald Law Awards, securing one of the most prestigious accolades in the Scottish legal sector.
The event, held in early November, celebrated excellence across the profession, recognising firms that demonstrate outstanding achievement, innovation and client service. Thorntons’ success highlights the strength of its service offering, the quality of its people and the impact the firm continues to make for clients across Scotland.
The award is also a symbol of the momentum behind the firm as it continues to develop its full-service proposition and expand its footprint nationwide.
Judges commended Thorntons for its strong recent growth and strategic mergers with historic central Scotland firm Macnabs as well as most recently with Aberdeen-based Patience and Buchan, moves which have enhanced the firm’s geographical reach, increased headcount and broadened its service capabilities.
Thorntons’ investment in innovation was also highlighted, with judges noting the firm’s commitment to developing expertise in digital transformation.
