Scottish Tech Firm Net-Defence Signals next Chapter with new Resilience Hub

Stirling-based cyber security and managed IT specialist Net-Defence is entering its second decade with a broader focus on business resilience, launching The Signal, a new free advice and resource hub to help organisations navigate an increasingly complex cyber risk landscape.

The launch comes as Net-Defence approaches its 10-year anniversary and represents the latest stage in the company’s evolution from its telecoms roots into a specialist cyber resilience provider supporting SMEs across Scotland and beyond.

Over the past decade, Net-Defence has grown its capabilities alongside the changing needs of businesses, with a deliberate focus on developing talent internally and building long-term technical and advisory capability within the team.

That evolution reflects a wider shift in the business risk landscape, technology has become embedded in almost every aspect of how organisations operate, while businesses are increasingly having to manage interconnected risks spanning cyber security, fraud, regulation, supply chains, data protection and rapid technological change.

The Signal has been created in response to that changing environment, bringing together practical advice, specialist knowledge and informed insight to help businesses understand emerging risks and take a more proactive approach to resilience.

Rather than focusing solely on IT and cyber security, the hub takes a broader organisation-wide approach, covering topics including compliance, regulation, supply chain risk and proactive defence. It is designed for the people and functions responsible for managing risk across a business, including technology and security teams, HR, finance, legal, compliance and leadership.

Content is organised across four channels, Perspectives, Resources, Video and Events and includes practical guides, self-assessment checklists, webinars, videos and live discussions featuring the Net-Defence Leadership team and other industry specialists.

Debra Cairns, Managing Director of Net-Defence, said the launch reflects both the company’s evolution and its focus on building capability for the next decade.

“As we approach our 10-year anniversary, it feels like the right time to reflect on how far we’ve come and, importantly, look ahead to what businesses will need from us in the next decade.

Technology has become fundamental to almost every aspect of business, while the risks organisations face have become increasingly sophisticated and interconnected.

The Signal is a natural next step in our own journey, we wanted to create a free, accessible resource where businesses can cut through complexity, understand the risks they face and find practical information they can act on.”

Debra added:

“It’s also an opportunity to share the experience and insight we’ve built within Net-Defence over the past 10 years. Developing our people and creating long-term capability has always been central to our approach, and The Signal allows us to make that knowledge available to a much wider audience.”

Net-Defence says its growth over the past decade has been deliberately measured, with investment in people, technology and operational efficiency helping the business expand its capabilities without compromising customer service.

The changing risk landscape means organisations increasingly need to consider technology, people, processes, governance and third-party dependencies together, rather than treating individual risks in isolation.

The Signal has therefore been developed collaboratively across the Net-Defence team, bringing together knowledge and experience from different areas of the business to create a practical resource for organisations at different stages of their resilience journey.

For Net-Defence, the launch provides an opportunity to build on the foundations of its first 10 years while responding to the challenges businesses are likely to face in the decade ahead.
