The Open University in Scotland is the largest provider of part-time higher education in the country – with over 22,000 students currently studying across all 32 council areas in Scotland.
We are a world leader in providing innovative, flexible and online distance learning opportunities to individuals, communities, employees and businesses – with 85% of our graduates remaining in the location where their study is undertaken, meaning their talent and skills remain within, and continues to benefit, the local community.
We help organisations to complement their existing learning and development plans with access to our vast range of high-quality business orientated Short-Course and Microcredential provision (Click here for more info), the majority of which can be provided at low or no cost to your businesses – meaning it’s never been easier, or as cost effective, to upskill, reskill or grow your workforce talent.
Our philosophy is simple …… we are ‘open to everyone’ regardless of age, income, geography and background. We make accessing our entire range of OU programmes and qualifications simple, from business leadership to digital marketing, languages to sustainability. We don’t believe in the need for traditional formal entry requirements for the majority of our courses, with many of our students and learners joining the OU family without standard university qualifications.
