Forth Valley Chamber & Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets Association: Strengthening Support from employers towards the Armed Forces Community

Forth Valley Chamber invite employers to engage with the Armed Forces Community. Hear from HRFCA who will inform FVC were delighted to have received the GOLD ERS award in November of last year and encourage our members to learn of the benefits associated with engaging with the AFC.

One of HRFCA’s core functions is to engage with the wider community to inform it of the contribution made, and the role undertaken, by the Reserve Forces, veterans and spouses in the Highland area. They achieve this through supporting, publicising and attending a range of events that bring the Armed Forces community into contact with the civilian population. Partnering with Defence can bring considerable benefits to businesses including military leadership training, staff recruitment and development and a wide range of networking events.

HRFCA encourages supportive employers to initially sign the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC), then the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) starting with the Bronze level. This is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
