King Street Apart Hotel & WorKing Flexi Spaces

King Street Aparthotel and WorKing Flexi Spaces are equal parts community and connection.

Almost two years ago, Neil Munday and Paul Murray decided to “put their pension to work,” diving into entrepreneurship through a whirlwind renovation project—one that has since evolved into the vibrant hotel and office space we know as King Street Aparthotel and WorKing Flexi Spaces.

For Neil, COVID was the catalyst for change. During this period of reset, he felt inspired to take a new path—one that moved away from the exhausting cycle of “living out of a suitcase” after 30 years of traveling for his corporate sales career in the IT industry.

This venture in property development was fuelled by Neils’ experience travelling during his career, paired with his expertise as a self-confessed “hotel snob” and seasoned office worker!

Since the renovation began in 2024, the team has worked tirelessly to bring the aparthotel and coworking space to life. Neil described the process as an “astonishing time frame given how much has been done to the building.”

Now, the pair are focused on creating an environment that fosters growth, connection, and collaboration.

WorKing Flexi Spaces is a testament to that vision. With 13 office spaces, meeting rooms, a gym, and a podcast studio, it is more than just a building—it’s a hub of connectivity. Stepping inside, there is an immediate sense of community. Neil explained how each business within the space plays a unique role, fitting together like pieces of a puzzle:

“We are beginning to foster collaboration and everyone’s business is thriving, because they essentially have onsite customers! That extends to the external community as well!”

“We are working with local businesses to drive that collaboration beyond the four walls of the building.”

Of course, Kingstreet ApartHotel is another extension of this vision. Recognising the lack of investment in Stirling’s hotel sector – coupled with a surge of tourists drawn to the city’s rich history – Neil and Paul saw an opportunity to create something new in the heart of Stirling.

Neil explained, “”Our value proposition is to attract the discerning traveller—someone who expects luxury, boutique, and high-end experiences. We don’t aim to be ‘just another hotel’; our goal is to deliver the best possible product with a premium, high-quality finish.”

“We won’t rest until we get five start reviews from every guest. We know that might take time to get there, but we are looking to deliver the best experience”

They are achieving this exceptional standard by partnering with local businesses that offer complementary services, including artists, cafes, coffee suppliers, and contractors.

Neil laughed, “We are now becoming known as the community wealth building guys on King Street!”

What stands out about their business success isn’t their profitability—it’s their commitment to uplifting other businesses and reinvesting in the community. Both Neil and Paul have placed local people, businesses and resources at the heart of their model and this is reflected in the hearty feel of King Street Aparthotel and WorKing Flexi Spaces.
